About Aleks

In all my life and work, I have always been a “process-person.” While so much in society pushes towards fast outcomes, I believe that the best way to get to great and sustainable outcomes is through strong processes. This is what has led me to practice mediation, coaching, and facilitation as powerful tools for building transformative conversations towards the most impactful of all outcomes — healthier, meaningful relationships.

I hold over 15 years of experience as a program manager and education specialist in the non-profit and academic sectors. My experience has spanned across diverse areas including advancement of progressive organizational governance and workplace cultures; innovation in mental health care; addressing barriers experienced by youth, women, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ folks; and amplifying Indigenous self-determination within social services. I have worked to train leaders in all of these areas.

I sit on the Board of Directors of Mediate BC, where I am Chair of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, and am also an Associate Member of the Mediate BC Roster. I hold a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of BC (JIBC) and have also completed their Level 1 and 2 courses in Conflict Coaching. Previous to that, I completed a BA in International Relations at Simon Fraser University. As well, I hold certificates in psychological first aid (Canadian Red Cross), workplace psychological safety (Guarding Minds), anti-racist praxis (Inner Activist), and motivational interviewing (CCMI), and have completed training in restorative justice (Restoring Collective, Restorative Justice Victoria, and Nzuzu Consulting) and Lewis Deep Democracy (Waterline Co-op). Alongside my private practice, I hold the role of Provincial Manager of CRCL (Crisis Response, Community Led) at CMHA BC, overseeing safety standards, training, and quality assurance for seven mobile mental health crisis teams across BC.

My lived and living experience as a queer person and Eastern European immigrant informs all of my work. Rooting into my own healing and self-advocacy journeys intimately affirms my professional and personal drive to fiercely believe in my clients’ potential to move through life’s tough challenges. I’m humbled to be trusted to join your courageous steps forward in search of understanding and connection.
